Life’s Tough Questions

  • What did I do to deserve this? What is my response when my life is turned upside down and I feel that all hope is lost?
  • Where do I turn for help when I feel so abandoned?
  • Who can I run to when every impulse says “run away?” Who can I trust when no one seems trustworthy?
  • How did things go so “wrong” when I tried so hard to do things “right?”
  • Why did God allow tragedy to enter my life, when I committed my life to Him?

Life’s Tough Choices

When confronted with tough questions, we are called to make tough choices. We are also frequently offered unsolicited advice such as:

  • “Hang in there…”
  • “What doesn’t kill you will make your stronger…”
  • “This must be part of God’s plan for you…”
  • “God only allows severe suffering to those He really trusts…”
  • “All things work together for good to those who love God…”

This is well intentioned advice, but not particularly helpful.

Join Pat and Bob Gillis on a six week journey as they explore the realities of “A New Kind of Normal.” Learn how Carol and Gene Kent watched their comfortable lives take a horrible detour when their beloved son was arrested and eventually sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. Their life would never be the same again. They were confronted with a choice. Would they choose to grasp the promises of God or reject the one source of hope that would move them toward “A New Kind of Normal”?

You are invited to join in a six week exploration that may help you re-define reality and reclaim hope. This is not a conversation for those seeking easy answers, but rather it’s for those willing to ask the tough questions. This is not about running from the truth, but rather running to the ultimate source of truth!

 The class will be held on Tuesday, October 11, 18, 25 and November 1, 8, & 15 from 6:30 to 8:00PM.
