The Susanna Wesley Circle will be providing Easter Baskets for 25 underprivileged children in the Southport area, so YOUR help is needed. On Sunday, February 26, “Tags & Bags” will be available to the Trinity congregation during all services. Each “tag” will describe the gender and age of a child who will receive a filled Easter basket, as well as suggestions for filling the basket. Anyone who volunteers to take a “tag” will fill the attached “bag” with candy, small toys, and other age-appropriate items which will be put in an Easter basket for a child. All filled “tags & bags” will be collected on March 11 during all services. On March 15, circle members will fill each Easter basket with the contents of each “bag” collected, and these will be distributed to needy children prior to Easter Sunday.

Would you like to see what a ChristCare group is like without making a long term commitment? Consider visiting Debby Surniak's group on Thursday mornings from 10:00 - 11:30AM on August 11th, 18th or 25th or on September 8th. We currently have 2 men and 5 women meeting regularly in Debby's home.
Beginning September 8th, the group will use the book, “Mosquito on an Elephant's Rump”, by Terry Teykl, to focus on prayer.
Are you looking for more in your life? Do you like to meet new people? Would you like to take a closer look at the Bible on a short-term commitment?
Then this ChristCare group is for you. Join us on Wednesdays at 6:30PM in the library beginning September 7th. For more information, contact Sherry Gibbs at 363-4249.
It seems like we are constantly looking for the newest stuff to fill our lives. But what stuff does God want us to fill our lives with? That’s why this year’s theme is “Dealing with Our Stuff”. In September, we will discuss “Tempting Stuff”.
Regular Youth Meetings
The meetings will begin at 5:00PM on Sundays. We will share dinner together before gathering as one group for our discussion. We will then divide into age groups where the discussion will continue appropriately for the smaller groups. Games and videos will supplement the discussion. Business items will be discussed at the close of the meeting followed by the benediction.
In order to share dinner together, I need parents to sign up to provide dinner for 25 people. Think simple…hot dogs, hamburgers, pizza, chili…you know, youth food!
All children, kindergarten through 5th grade, are invited to enjoy an afternoon of FUN on September 11th and 25th from 4:00 to 6:00PM. The FUN will take place in Murrow Hall.
Children’s Council
The council will meet on Sunday, September 18th at 8:00AM in Room 102.
Vacation Bible School
Praise God for an exciting week of VBS for the children of Trinity and visiting children. With the help of many volunteers, they learned what it was like for Jesus to be a “Kid Growing Up in Nazareth”. The donations of necessary supplies from the congregation added to the success of the program.
The children experienced so much love and excitement…what a great way to start the summer.
Breathe deeply. Slowly exhale. Christmas has passed and the realities of a New Year have now set in. How are you doing? Were the worries that dogged you from last year wiped away, just like the Christ child’s birth gave us all a new beginning? Or not?
Holidays have a way of allowing us to push back on our problems and hold them at bay for a brief time. But when the holiday festivities are over we once again are forced to face our unresolved problems.
Our worries can be carried solely within ourselves and we can seek to resolve them on our own. This way is often lonely and at times seemingly without hope.
John 14:1 says, Jesus said, "Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust in me.”
So:
reach out to God in prayer and seek His comfort & direction through your troubled times.
but for a face to face conversation, where you can unload your burdens in strict confidence with someone who truly cares about your concerns, then this can be accomplished by talking to a Stephen Minister.
Stephen Ministers provide emotional and spiritual support to those facing a variety of issues in their lives. Just talking to someone will not only release stress but will also assist in finding a pathway through whatever problems have followed you into the New Year. Lighten your New Year load.
