The ministry that was started three years ago by Lynda Sherrill has now grown to over 40 members. The group has knitted, crocheted, quilted and given away 1000 shawls, lap blankets, quilts, pet blankets and prayer pockets!  That is an average of over 25 per month, but there have been some months that as many as 30 shawls have been given out. 

What a wonderful blessing this ministry has been. Little did Lynda and her angels know the tremendous need for this kind of ministry as well as the love and blessings that they bring.

The angels are desperate for some new members! Please come and join us. If you are unsure of your skills our motto is “IF WE CAN TEACH HERB PRITCHARD TO KNIT, WE CAN TEACH ANYONE!”  If the meeting times do not work for you, please know that all knitting and crocheting can be done at home.

We are now making “prayer pockets” for soldiers. This is a small 4” x 4” knitted square

( a very mini prayer shawl)  that our soldiers can carry in their pocket, or up in their helmets.  We attach a small note explaining what they are and who they are from. We have sent several batches off to military bases, as well as hand delivering some to traveling soldiers that we have crossed paths with in airports.

The angels have also “adopted” 4 soldiers serving in Afghanistan.  We have sent cards, gifts, goodies and shawls to each of them. We will continue to support and pray for them as long as there is a need.
